Bellevue Arts Museum is open Wednesday – Sunday, 11 am – 5 pm. Masks required.
Bellevue Botanical Garden is open daily, dawn – dusk. Masks are required indoors.

Full Disclosure: Pop-up Art Show & Market
This art show and market will provide a space for artists to display and/or sell their personal or collaborative works with transparency of making in mind. The popup’s theme, “Exposed” highlights the uncovering of methods of making and exploring processes from sketching, planning, handling materials, and execution.

Join us for a family-friendly outdoor concert celebrating the Eastside's vibrant and diverse community. Featuring Zan Fiskum, Breaks and Swells, Correo Aereo, and John Pinetree and the Yellin’ Degenerates.
Heath & Safety Policy: Due to health concerns about the Delta variant, full vaccination and masks are required for indoor events at the Meydenbauer Theatre. Masks are also required at crowded outdoor venues.

Catherine Cross Uehara: STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER!
Performance staging, roving performance in Downtown Park. The artist will explore embodied ancestry and a journey of self-discovery.

Swallowing Silence: A discussion on Power and Censorship in the Arts
A panel discussion between Erin Shigaki and Anida Yoeu Ali, moderated by Ploi Pirapokin.
Saturday, September 11
12 – 3 pm | Performance begins and ends at Bellevue Arts Museum
Anida Yoeu Ali: The Red Chador: Genesis I
Performance and procession by Anida Yoeu Ali that engages public spaces both outdoors and indoors bringing a hypervisibility to both issues of Islamophobia and homophobia. Seven performers or chadoras create a moving rainbow spectrum, an intentional colorful spectacle to reclaim the gaze of the Muslim woman. The performance itself begins with the seven chadoras inside the museum and ends with the performers in a procession in and around the city blocks of Bellevue.
11 am – 4 pm | Bellevue Botanical Garden
Gustavo Martinez: The Guardian Within
A public demonstration throughout the day of the artist’s process used to create a sculpture that is mostly composed of wheel thrown forms. This will be done in the open for passerby to engage at the level of their comfort.
11 am – 5 pm | Bellevue Arts Museum
Jesus Benavente: We Built This With The Weapons You Gave Us
Collaborative/interactive brick drawings in front of BAM. Bricks created by participants will be moved to Court of Light for a faux-fire pit and seating to be exhibited for the duration of Bellwether.

Ricky Clousing: La Belle Vue Looking Glass
An interactive zine experience celebrating the intricate layers of relationships and stories hidden in the built environment. This personal and self-guided tour of Bellevue's Downtown Park considers how symbols shape our community and invites viewers to revisit, reclaim, and reimagine the story of place. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of September 11th, this ceremony of remembrance also reflects on the moral injury and cost of war on our community. Printed zines will be available in the lobby at BAM.
