Zac Weinberg’s projects address the systems by which we interpret and allocate status to objects. His glass and mixed media works have been exhibited at home and abroad in venues including The Sculpture Center in Ohio, the Robert Lehman Gallery in New York, Glassmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark, and Glasenhuis in Belgium. Weinberg received a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and an MFA from the Ohio State University. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Kanik Chung Legacy Fellowship at MassArt and an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council. Weinberg has recently relocated to Sunderland, UK to pursue research at the National Glass Centre through a Fulbright award.
Uncertainty in the Face of Doubt
A common typo rendered in archival materials, Uncertainty in the Face of Doubt’s neon letters form a statement with good intentions and failed delivery. The work’s ungrammatical optimism alludes to the human capacity to uphold convictions against formal evidence.
